Seminar series 2015/16 - November

Managing the University’s Environmental Impacts in the 21st century University

Speaker:

Ms Ashleigh Taylor
Environment Co-Ordinator at the University of Hertfordshire

Abstract

Ashleigh Taylor the University’s Environmental Coordinator based within the Centre for Sustainable Communities carried out consultancy work around the development of an Environmental Management System (EMS) for Herts Urgent Care, who is a not-for-profit Social Enterprise and Community Benefit Society which provides healthcare services to the people of Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Having environmental credentials is becoming increasingly important when bidding for funding or contracts, not only this but having an EMS will help your organisation to manage and improve its environmental performance, it will help your business comply with environmental laws and regulations.

It can also generate financial savings through efficient practices, improve the standing and reputation of your business with staff, client companies, partner organisations and wider stakeholders. If you would like some advice on developing an EMS within your organisation please contact Ashleigh Taylor
