Hertfordshire Guide To Growth: a one day symposium at Hatfield House, Hertfordshire

On the 23rd October we will be hosting a one-day symposium to launch our recently completed research into the Hertfordshire Guide to Growth - Five Years On.

The research reviews where we have come from in the more than five years since The Hertfordshire Guide to Growth, Herts Charrette originally explored placemaking opportunities in the county.

The report launch offers us the chance to consider our current situation in regard to these same issues in some depth with a great range of expert speakers (incl. Andres Duany), panels and participatory sessions

Welcome to the home page for the Centre for Sustainable Communities. The Centre for Sustainable Communities (CSC) focuses on sustainable urbanism, sustainable transport, sustainable planning, food and the environment. These feature predominantly in our range of short courses and seminars.

At the Centre we run a viariety of short courses which teach placemaking skills. Our approach incorporates a range of expertise in the built environment including planning, urban design, transport planning and environmental management among others.

The Centre for Sustainable Communities at the University of Hertfordshire has entered into an exciting partnership with Lafarge Tarmac Aggregates focused on "sustainable living".
